"Victory for Porsche- Le Mans 1970" Twenty years after its first attempt to win the world's most famous race Porsche finally achieved its maiden victory at the Sarthe in 1970. The image shows the winning 4.5 litre Porsche 917 "short tail" entered by Porsche Salzburg and driven by Richard Attwood and Hans Herrmann exiting the Esses in atrocious weather conditions. Following are the two 917LH's (Langhecks) driven by Elford and Ahrens and the Martini team car of Larrousse and Kauhsen which was to eventually finish in second place. The winning car covered the 2863 miles at an average speed of 119 mph to record a most important victory. Le Mans 13/14th June 1970. Signed by: Richard Attwood, Hans Herrmann, and Hans Mezger.
